Quick answers

RGB keyboard questions

Does the backlight change the switch feel?

No. The lighting layer sits below the plate and does not touch the switch or the keycap stem. Feel comes from the switch type and the mounting.

Can the lighting be turned off?

Yes. These boards have lighting modes that include an off state. You can run the keyboard with no backlight if you prefer.

Do side-printed keycaps work with the backlight?

Yes. Side-printed PBT keycaps are common on these boards because the legend sits on the side wall. The backlight shines through the side rather than the top.

Is the lighting different on wired versus wireless?

The lighting layer is the same. On battery power, runtime is shorter with the backlight on than with it off.

Lighting as a configurable layer

The lighting on these boards is a backlit layer under the keycaps, not a printed legend. It runs in multiple colors and can be set to static shades or animated effects. The feature is part of the board itself, so the keycaps are often side printed or blank to let the light read clearly.

Switches are hot swappable on most of the samples, which means the lighting layer sits below the plate and stays put when a switch is pulled. Pre-lubed linear switches and gasket mounting appear across the group. The lighting is controlled from the board, not from a separate device.

Formats and builds that carry it

These boards come in compact and full-size layouts. The samples include 65 percent, 75 percent, and 99-key arrangements, with some models adding a number pad and a knob. Case colors in the group run to white, brown, gray, and black.

Keycaps are often PBT with side printing, which keeps the top face clean while the backlight shows through the sides. Connectivity is not fixed: the same board may offer Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, and USB-C wired modes. The lighting works in all of them.
